Blue Certification Training Camps at Bluenotes GLOBAL 2019

By popular request, three specially designed instructor-led face-to-face Blue certification training camps will be held in conjunction with the Bluenotes GLOBAL 2019 Conference – the Blue Administrator Certification (BAC) training camp, the Blue Expert Certification (BEC) training camp, and the Blue Report Master Certification (BRMC) training camp.

BAC Training Camp Overview

The Blue Administrator Certification (BAC) training camp at the Bluenotes GLOBAL 2019 conference is a part of a specially designed instructor-led, face-to-face BAC training program. This Blue Administrator Certification training is to be delivered in a blended format where face-to-face, hands-on training at the certification camp is combined with pre-camp self-directed learning activities. At the end of this hands-on BAC training camp, the camp participant will be at the certified Blue Administrator level, thus given the Blue Administrator Certification.

For more information about the BAC training structure and agenda, please refer to the BAC Training Camp Agenda @ Bluenotes GLOBAL 2019.

Who Should Attend?

This program is for people who will implement Blue, or be a part of a Blue implementation project, to automate their feedback processes such as course evaluations, institutional surveys, and 360 reviews. They can be any of the following:

  • Those who are to implement Blue in their institutions for the first time but have no or little knowledge of Blue yet
  • Those who have some experience in using Blue but have not taken any formal Blue training
  • Those who wish to re-skill on the latest version of Blue

Having an understanding of basic database concepts (such as data structure) and program language concepts (such as the concept of variables) is a plus.

BAC Training Camp Structure

To elevate your learning experience, this specially designed instructor-led training camp will be structured as follows:

  • Self-learning before the camp: This self-directed online introduction to Blue consists of 1 days’ worth of material that you can finish at your own pace. This self-directed learning is to familiarize yourself with Blue concepts, terms and features, along with practice exercises to introduce you to creating course evaluations in Blue. This session must be completed prior to the 2-day face-to-face camp, to ensure that you will be ready to fully participate in and complete the training camp with Blue Administrator Certification.
  • Camp: A 2-day instructor-led camp that offers the hands-on participation and training required to be certified a Blue Administrator, and thus you will receive your Blue Administrator Certification at the end of the camp.

Key Benefits and Learning Outcomes

With the completion of the Blue Administrator Certification Training Program, a training participant will be able to:

  • Understand and apply basic Blue fundamental concepts, terminologies, and basic functionality to build and manage standard feedback processes using Blue, including:
    • Working with data sources and Blue’s project definitions
    • Creating, publishing, and monitoring a project
    • Copying and reusing project content
    • Automating task processes
    • Building, managing, and automatically distributing insightful reports
  • Identify ways in which Blue can be used to provide automation, autonomy, and insight into their organization’s feedback processes
  • Participate in the Blue Administrator’s community forum (BAC to Blue Forum) to share and discuss with your BAC trained colleagues topics such as how you apply your learning to improve your Blue proficiency toward autonomy, for continuous learning and improvement

BEC Training Camp Overview

The Blue Expert Certification (BEC) training camp at Bluenotes GLOBAL 2019 is designed to further develop your expertise and skills in using advanced Blue features so that you can implement any feedback process at varying degrees of complexity. Becoming a certified Blue Expert requires approximately 40 hours of your time: including a 3-day instructor-led training camp followed by 5 to 6 weeks of sandbox experience, consisting of approximately 8 hours of hands-on sandbox exercises taken at your own pace, supported by three 2-hour bi-weekly online review sessions. The final step of the Blue Expert Certification training is the certification exam. Blue Expert Certificates are awarded upon successful completion of the Blue Expert certification exam.

For more information about the BEC training structure and agenda, please refer to the BEC Training Camp Agenda @ Bluenotes GLOBAL 2019.

Who Should Attend?

This certification training program is intended for:

  • Certified Blue Administrators with experience in implementing a Blue project autonomously at least in one evaluation or survey cycle, or
  • Those with an equivalent level of Blue knowledge and experience

Becoming Certified

The Blue Expert Certification (BEC) training camp is designed to further develop your Blue expertise and skills, by teaching you how to:

  • Implement an advanced level of end-to-end automation of your feedback processes
  • Merge cross-listed courses to enable unified report building
  • Implement dynamic report distribution to support your decision makers, as personnel changes

What’s next after the BEC training camp? Put your new knowledge into practice in a dedicated sandbox environment. Complete the exercises in the exercise guide at your own pace before you take the Blue certification exam online. The exam will test both your conceptual and practical knowledge of Blue through a multiple choice questionnaire, essay-type questions and practical examples that demonstrate your newly developed expertise. Our training team will then meet with you via online correspondence to review your results. Upon finishing the review, a Blue Expert Certificate is issued to you!

  • Find solutions to current challenges and opportunities that you are facing in your institutions, by discussing them with the instructor and other experienced Blue users in your BEC training cohort
  • Be part of the Blue Expert community, and have access to Blue BETA functionality in a shared sandbox environment
  • Have the access to the training sandbox use for one year post the BEC training camp, which gives you access to the latest Blue releases and all modules regardless of your product licenses, as well as the ability to upload your own data for testing prior to implementing these releases in your own institution
