Students' Feedback - How to Engage your Students and Increase Response Rates

calendarTuesday, May 24th 2022, 03:00 AM - 04:00 AM Eastern Timezone

When it comes to collecting students’ feedback from various surveys, many universities are often preoccupied with the response rate While the participation rate is important from a statistical point of view, the quality of feedback is what will help institutions in obtaining key student insights and making informed decisions.

To achieve that, it is essential to engage all stakeholders in the feedback process. This can be achieved by providing students with various feedback channels while also highlighting the significance of their voice in elevating the learning experience. Faculty, course coordinators, and program managers, on the other hand, should have the ability to track live response rates, obtain feedback on key initiatives and view timely reports. Facilitating a better engagement for all stakeholders via a more unified process will not only increase the response rate but will also fuel a cycle of continuous improvement.

Reporting to Students: Closing the Feedback Loop Where it Began

calendarWednesday, June 24th 2020, 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM Eastern Timezone
Student feedback can drive the improvement of teaching and learning. To do so we talk of ‘closing the loop’. Institutions often assume that applying the evaluation results to define or refine strategic improvement plans accomplishes that. However, the loop begins with students and so ‘closing the loop’ should end where it began: reporting the results of course evaluations to the students. This webinar will discuss the importance of reporting to students in ‘closing the feedback loop’ as well as part of the continuous cycle of teaching and learning process improvement. Specifically, it will demonstrate how this process can be implemented with the help of Blue.

Automatically Update Demographic Information in Live Projects

calendarWednesday, January 29th 2020, 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM Eastern Timezone

Automatically updating demographic information in live projects is the eagerly anticipated functionality that allows specific course and student demographic data to be updated daily after the project has been published. Increasingly, institutions are launching course evaluation projects at the beginning of the term which allows them to capture feedback for shorter term and online courses. This has put an extra burden on the SIS/Blue data admin to ensure that course data is accurate before the evaluation project is published in Blue. In this webinar, we will walk through the process of setting up this functionality, configuring it, and examining some important use cases and the impact that this functionality will have on these projects.

Tapping the Power of Question Bank to Handle Very Large Questionnaires

calendarWednesday, May 29th 2019, 02:00 PM - 03:30 PM Eastern Timezone

Trigger logic is a common method used in questionnaire creation to automate what recipients get which questions. As more and more trigger logic is embedded in questionnaires, managing the logic conditions with consistency for data collection and reporting can become complex. Blue’s Question Bank feature is a repository of questions through which questionnaires from different projects can pull specified questions without the need for triggering logic. That power makes Question Bank particularly useful for institutions that deal with large or complex questionnaires. In this webinar we will be showcasing one such institution and their application of Question Bank.

Why The Data Cleansing Process For Course Evaluations Must Evolve

calendarWednesday, January 18th 2017, 01:00 PM - 01:45 PM Eastern Timezone
Wednesday, January 18 at 1 p.m. EST Course evaluation data preparation can be a LONG and PAINFUL process. Often it occupies key institution resources to split files, parse information, chase down stakeholders, and compile data manually for submission. Join this webinar to learn how the Data Integrity Gateway (DIG) can help institutions automate processes and speed up course evaluation data preparation. eXplorance's CEO, Samer Saab, will demonstrate DIG and interact with all attendees by utilizing the tool to complete an example data preparation project. With its 2nd fully redesigned version, DIG offers an intuitive platform to take the seven week manual course evaluation data gathering process down to a two week automated process.

Presenter: Samer Saab, eXplorance CEO Samer Saab, CEO, eXplorance

Samer has worked directly with institutional researchers & IT members for for three years to best understand the pains of data collection and processing. DIG beta clients included UPenn, Washington State University, and Aarhaus University. Based on what was learned, Samer led an initiative to build a software platform to eliminate redundancies and make data purposeful for course evaluations.
